PHIL SCHLESINGER CIVITAN CLUB Newsletter January 2016 Greetings from President Ian: Happy New Year 2016. Let’s make this a great Civitan year. Our Birthdays this month are: Gloria (16th); Manny (12th) and Jean (22nd) After waiting for quite a while, the medals for our Bocce State games arrived and everyone got GOLD. Hopefully next year it won’t rain and it will be a successful tournament. Our Christmas party was a huge success as usual. Everyone had a lot of food and good companionship. Ken and Charles were not with us this year, they were in California. They were missed. We have had a good rest from TGIF Bowling and Special Olympics practice. Both start back this month. Bowling is on Friday January 8th and SO practice starts on January 16th. 10am at Rincon High School. We will start with track and field and then change over to tennis. As usual we will share the facilities with the Sunbirds. 12 of our members will be going to Las Vegas this month. There is a conference there and so they will miss the first meeting of the year and the first TGIF bowling. Your donations are doing well. I hope you are still saving your pennies. Please continue to bring to the meetings. All monies we collect help boost our funds so that we can help support others. Soda cans and clear plastic bottles and empty medicine small bottles are always needed. Please make sure that your dues are up to date ($7) per month.
